New Cd’A Library service: Chromebooks

In January, the Coeur d’Alene Public Library launched a Chromebook Checkout service! With generous funding from the Coeur d’Alene Public Library Foundation, ten Chromebooks have been purchased, processed, and are now available for checkout by library patrons. The mini laptops do require Wi-Fi, and patrons can access free versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint (or Google equivalents) online by creating a free Microsoft, or Google, account.

Patrons can check these items out with three easy steps

1. Find the items in the catalog using the search term Chromebook (cdalibrary.org)

2. Place the items on hold with their library card number (Password = LAST NAME IN CAPS)

3. Pick up the items from the curbside service after they have been notified that the hold is ready
