JD Smithson starts as the new Communications Coordinator at the library on December 16th, 2020. She fills the position previously held by David Townsend, who recently retired after 20 wonderful years of service.
JD holds BS in Botany from Idaho State University and received her Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of Washington in March, 2020. She also served in Peace Corps Malawi from 2012-2014.
For the last five years, JD worked as Branch Manager of the Lake City Public Library and she is excited to bring her love of design and marketing to the Coeur d’Alene Public Library.
