Jólabókaflóð (pronounced yo-la-bok-a-flot) is the Icelandic tradition of book giving. It began in WWII, when paper was far cheaper than imported goods. People began giving books as gifts. The Coeur d’Alene Library would like to bring this tradition to you. From Monday, December 14 – Thursday, December 31st, community members are invited to stop by the library to pick up a free gift-wrapped book. We have books for people of all ages! What book will you receive? It’s a surprise! You won’t know until you have unwrapped it. Limit one per person while supplies last.
