Library Card Signup Month: Film Screening (PG-13) – Thursday, September 18 (5 pm)
September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month—a time to celebrate the power of libraries and the essential services they provide to communities. To mark the occasion, the Library invites you to a special screening of The Public, a thought-provoking film that highlights the vital role libraries play in society.
“The Public”, directed by and starring Emilio Estevez, centers on a public library in Cincinnati where a group of homeless patrons stages a peaceful sit-in during a brutal winter storm. The film explores themes of social justice, community, and the moral responsibilities of public institutions.
