Tough Topics Story Time: Children’s Grief Awareness Day (4-11 yo)

Virtual via Facebook. One of the best ways to introduce children to the tough topic of death is through books before the difficult situation has occurred. Join Miss Mandi for this virtual story time in honor of Children’s Grief Awareness Day. This story time uses picture books to gently explore death and grief. This story time will be recorded, so you can watch it as needed. A memory box craft will be available for pickup at the library, beginning Monday, Nov. 14th. The craft will also include information about the developmental stages of grief in children, local resources that can provide support to grieving families, a booklist, and a guide for further discussion as a family. These resources will also be provided digitally. Content warning: This story time will contain stories that deal with the deaths of humans and animals.
