City Nature Challenge: it’s a Bioblitz
City Nature Challenge: it’s a Bioblitz
Friday, April 28 – Monday, May 1
Get outside, have fun, and help scientists help our natural world! Nature is everywhere, even in our cities! Scientists are working hard to preserve and protect biodiversity, but they need our help gathering data! A bioblitz is a crowd-sourced collaboration among community members to try to track and identify wild-occurring species in a specific area. The City Nature Challenge is a free, annual bioblitz whereby citizens are encouraged to document as many different species in nature as they can, using the iNaturalist app. It is a fun, friendly competition among communities all over the planet, and Kootenai County is one of them! This year’s CNC is April 28th – May 1st. For more information and to get started collecting data, go to: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2023-kootenai-county-id
