This event is intended for children ages 6-12 years old

Past Events

December – The December program will spotlight a girl named Josefina Montoya, who lives on her family’s rancho in colonial New Mexico in 1824. Christmas is a very important holiday to Josefina and her family, so we’ll be focusing on this festive theme as we learn about her world through their Christmas traditions.

November – The November program will spotlight a girl named Caroline Abbot, who lives in upper New York state during the War of 1812. She was born in a log cabin and enjoys helping her family run a shipyard on Lake Ontario. She especially loves all of the activities that the lake offers, like sailing, skating, and fishing. Caroline dreams of being the captain of her own ship one day.

September – The September program will spotlight a Native American character from 1764 named Kaya, who is a member of the Nimiipuu, or Nez Perce tribe. Kaya’s story reflects her love for the outdoors, horses, family, and desire to become a strong and courageous leader of her people.

OctoberThe October program will spotlight a girl named Felicity Merriman who represents English Colonial America and the early American Revolutionary War Period. She’s a daring and spunky girl who is thrilled by the great outdoors, gardening, and horses, while frustrated by expectations to be ladylike.
