The Second Story Books Bookstore
is an all-volunteer run project of the Friends of the Coeur d’Alene Public Library featuring gently used hardback and paperback books. The bookstore also offers “Mudgy & Millie” books and plush animals.
The bookstore is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. (Please note that because the bookstore is run by volunteers, it will be closed at time due to reasons beyond our control.)
The library accepts donations of books that are in a clean and useable condition. All donations are first reviewed for possible addition to the library collection. Those not selected then become the property of the Friends of the Library to sell, donate for other purposes, or to otherwise dispose of them. Donations can only be accepted by the library without condition. Donations not used by the library will not be returned.
Donations cannot be accepted if they have a strong cigarette or other odor. The library cannot accept out-of-date encyclopedias or other old reference materials; vinyl records, music or audiobook cassettes, music CDs, VHS tapes, textbooks, or large collections of magazines. Donors with more than two or three boxes of books are asked to call ahead, at 208-769-2315, to make an appointment for the staff to assist with the donation. The
