For the holidays

Price reduced for Foundation’s Right to Read Calendar

Just in time for holiday gift-giving, the Right to Read Calendar from the Coeur d’Alene Public Library Foundation has been reduced in price to $20.

The 16-month calendar, emphasizing the Library Foundation’s commitment to protecting and defending intellectual freedom, the Right to Read Calendar features a variety of books that have been challenged over the years. These titles are still available because libraries and librarians continue to work hard keeping all kinds of books for all kinds of people accessible and free to read.

Local community readers, leaders and celebrities are featured depicting tongue-in-cheek parodies of challenged titles for each month, beginning with September 2025.

Outlets to purchase the calendars include Second Story Books at the main entrance to the library, 702 E. Front Ave., and The Well Read Moose, 248 N. Main St., in the Riverstone shopping district. Copies will also be for sale during Library Foundation-sponsored events at the library and other locations.

Calendars can also be ordered online for pickup at the Library Foundation office at: https://square.link/u/K1VpYBDH. The calendar can be purchased and shipped, for an additional fee at https://square.link/u/ReHaA2N6.

Because all production costs were supported by local businesses, foundations, and individuals, all proceeds support the work of the Coeur d’Alene Public Library Foundation.
