It’s Pumpkin Time – Pumpkin Giveaway and Party

Pumpkin Time Giveaway – October 15 (9 am) – for All Ages

It’s the City of Coeur d’Alene Wastewater Department and the Library’s, favorite time of year! For the past few years the Wastewater Department has grown a huge crop of pumpkins with their special Coeur d’Green Compost and they let Coeur d’Alene Public Library give them all away! On Friday, Oct. 15, beginning at 9 am, from the lower parking lot on the McEuen Park side of the building, there will be a drive-through for pumpkin pickup. Participants will remain in their vehicles and wastewater and library staff will hand out the pumpkins. Bagged decorating supplies will also be available.

“We really appreciate the Wastewater Department for providing the pumpkins every year,” says Circulation Manager Tyler McLane. “This is a very unique interdepartmental partnership within the city and something we can all enjoy.”

Patrons are also invited to use these pumpkins, or their own, for a Pumpkin Decorating Contest. To enter the contest, participants are asked to submit a photo – one entry per person – of their decorated pumpkins to the link above by Oct. 22. Participants are welcome to use their own pumpkins and, unlike previous years, the pumpkins can be carved. Participants are asked to keep their themes family friendly and the library reserves the right to disqualify inappropriate entries.

All entries will be displayed on the library Facebook page where the public can vote on the entries by liking the images until Oct. 31st, winners will be announced that same day. Entries will be voted on in youth, teen, and adult categories. In order to ensure that the prizes can be claimed, contestants must be local residents able to come to the library.

Starting Monday, October 22, the photos will be available to view, share, and like on our main Facebook page. Voting will be available until October 31 at 5pm. Winners will be announced on Facebook on October 31 by 7pm.

Only likes on the Coeur d’Alene Public Library’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/CDALibrary) will be counted as votes. When sharing, please direct your friends back to our site.
